Starting a freelance journey in a new country is never easy, but today I’m proud and grateful to share a big milestone in my UK freelancing career — I successfully completed my first freelance project in the UK by revamping The Taru Restaurant’s website.

This achievement means a lot to me, both professionally and personally.

📌 About the Project – The Taru Restaurant

The Taru is a restaurant based in the UK, and the client approached me because their old website was built on Squarespace and had several issues:

• very basic design

• not properly optimized for seo

• unresponsive layout on mobile devices

• boxed and restricted structure

• monthly payment for squarespace with limited flexibility

The website did not reflect the quality, vibe, or professionalism of the restaurant.

🔄 Why We Shifted from Squarespace to WordPress

After understanding the client’s needs, I suggested moving the website to WordPress, and here’s why:

• full design freedom and customization

• seo-friendly structure

• better performance and speed

• fully responsive on all devices

• no forced monthly platform fee

• easy future updates and scalability
